After seven races, the WEC championship season comes to its conclusion this weekend with the Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain, where the manufacturers’ and drivers’ champions will be decided.

Following a dominant run at the beginning of the season, Ferrari tops the manufacturer’s championship with 204 points, with Porsche and Cadillac behind and still within contention of the crown heading into Bahrain.

Ferrari were only able to secure a single point last time out in Fuji, won by Alpine, whereas Porsche tightened the gap on the championship leaders, taking home 27 points in the Japanese race ahead of their final race in the championship

Similarly, Ferrari occupies the top two positions in the drivers’ championship, headed by the #51 works car, driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi, Antonio Giovinazzi and James Calado, on 115 points. Ferrari’s privateer #83, driven by Philip Hanson, Robert Kubica and Yifei Ye, find themselves 13 points behind on 102 points.

Porsche’s Kevin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor round out the top three on 94 points, 21 points behind the current points leaders.

So, with both championships still on the line for the season finale, what is the weather expected to be like in Bahrain for the season finale? According to the Met Office, it is unsurprisingly expected to be a dry and sunny event.
