Peugeot goes fastest in 6 Hours of Fuji opening practice
26th September 2025Peugeot’s Loic Duval tops the opening practice timing boards at the 6 Hours of Fuji as Ben Barnicoat, for Akkodis ASP, tops the LMGT3 class.

It was a warm and sunny start to the FIA World Endurance Championship’s 100th race, at the 6 Hours of Fuji, at the iconic Fuji Speedway, which started with its typical 90-minute practice session.
Hypercar
Peugeot was the fastest of the Hypercar bunch, with the #94 Peugeot leading its #93 counterpart. The former completed the lap with a time of 1m 30.152s, 0.458s faster than the sister car.
They were accompanied by both Aston Martin Thor Team cars, with #009 edging out the #007, 0.480s and 0.614s, in third and fourth, respectively. Porsche Penske’s #5 car rounded out the top five, 0.807s off the pace of the leading Peugeots, and the last car to be within a second of the fastest time.
Toyota’s #8 found itself down in sixth in its home event, 1.074s off, as the Japanese manufacturer looks for its 10th race win at Fuji, out of 12 events.
Both Alpines (#35 and #36) finished seventh and eighth, ahead of the Privateer Ferrari #83 AF Corse, as the #51 Ferrari rounded out the top 10, 1.378s off Peugeot’s time.
LMGT3
The #78 Akkodis ASP topped the timing boards for the Lexus squad with a time of 1m 41.257s, ahead of the #81 Corvette belonging to the TF Sport team, as the #95 United Autosports rounded out the top three, 0.384s off Barnicoat’s time.
However, the Corvette was on the heels of the leading Lexus, separated by only 0.033s.
Ferrari’s AF Corse occupied fourth and sixth, after the first 90 minutes, with the BMW of Team WRT in the middle, in sixth. A maximum of 0.425s separated the top six from the fastest time of the field.
Similar to the Ferraris, the Ford Mustangs of Proton Competition – their #77 and #88 cars – finished the opening practice session in seventh and eighth. United Autosport’s #59 was sandwiched in the middle, in eighth.
It left Manthey 1st Phorm to round out the top 10, in 10th place, with their #92 Porsche, 0.657 seconds off the leading pace.
