Porsche lead first hour at WEC 6 Hours of Sao Paulo
13th July 2025Porsche Penske is the current race leader, piloted by Julien Andlauer for the World Endurance Championship’s 6 Hours of Sao Paulo, in Brazil.

Cadillac’s Will Stevens, driving their #12 car, was the pole sitter of the pack when the lights went out, but the Cadillac’s lead only ran for eight corners, at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, as the #5 Porsche dived down the inside to take the race lead.
The first initial issue in the hypercar class arose with BMW’s #15 car, which experienced brake issues early on in the session. There was trouble with the repair, and the car returned to the circuit, albeit 17 laps behind the leader.
As the first hour drew to a close, after 40 minutes, Cadillac’s #12 was issued a drive-through penalty with a technical infringement.
LMGT3 was not without issue, as the #27 Aston Martin from the Heart of Racing Team was facing the wrong way temporarily, prompting the first yellow flag of the race. The Vantage was able to get going again after a quick stop.
