Cadillac take 1-2 finish at WEC 6 Hours of Sao Paulo
13th July 2025Cadillac Hertz Team Jota’s pole-sitting #12 has secured victory at the World Endurance Championship’s 6 Hours of Sao Paulo, leading home a 1-2 finish, to end Ferrari’s dominance.

Cadillac have become the second brand to win a race in the WEC in 2025, ending Ferrari’s four-race unbeaten run at the iconic Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, as Porsche #5 completed the overall podium.
Norman Nato was the driver to secure victory for Cadillac ahead of Sebastien Bourdais, in the #38 Cadillac, and Julien Andlauer for Porsche.
It brings an end to Ferrari’s dominance, which has won every race thus far: Qatar, Imola, Spa-Francorchamps and Le Mans, with their official and privateer cars.
Despite winning the race this evening, the #12 car held onto the race lead at the start before the #5 Porsche snatched the lead at turn eight on the opening lap, inside the first hour.
However, at the halfway point, after three hours, Cadillac returned to the top spot with both cars running one and two, in the same order they finished.
In the LMGT3 classification, the Akkodis ASP Team #87 Lexus took overall victory in Sao Paulo, ahead of the Corvette of TF Sport, 37.716s behind the class leader.
However, the Aston Martin Vantage piloted by the Racing Spirit of Leman completed the podium in third. It was Eduardo Barrichello who took the chequered flag in his home race for the LMGT3 team.
Across the six hours, Cadillac’s winning car totalled up 242 laps at Interlagos, and LMGT3 managed to break the 200-mark with 216 completed by Lexus’ winning Akkodis ASP car.
