Toyota top final practice at WEC 6 Hour of Sao Paulo
12th July 2025Toyota topped the final hour of practice, ahead of qualifying and Hyperpole, at the World Endurance Championship’s 6 Hours of Sao Paulo.

After two Free Practice sessions, dominated by the Porsche Penske cars, on Friday, the final hour of practice fell to the Toyota #8 car in cloudy and warm conditions, after a short delay to the session start.
Ryo Hirakawa topped the timing boards with the fastest lap time, a one-minute, 23.695-second lap after five laps around the iconic Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, commonly known as Interlagos.
The Japanese driver is part of a two-car line-up – Hirakawa and Brendon Hartley – this weekend as their regular partner, Sebastien Buemi, is racing in Berlin for the Formula E championship.
Ferrari’s AF Corse #50 car, piloted by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen, finished behind the Toyota pair nearly half a second off their pace. The #15 BMW M Team, driven by Dries Vanthoor, Raffaele Marciello and Kevin Magnussen, completed the top three.
The Porsche Penske car, who topped FP1 and FP2, occupied last place in the Hypercar class – down in 18th, behind their #5 sister car in 17th.
The Corvette Z06 of TF Sport, Keating, Edgar, Juncadella, topped the timing boards for the LMGT3 classification with a one-minute 34.414-second lap. They were trailed by the Aston Martin Vantage of Racing Spirit of Leman, 0.071s behind.
Proton Competition’s #88 Ford Mustang completed the LMGT3 top three.
Qualifying is next ahead of Hyperpole for both classes for the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo. It is set to get underway at 2:45pm local time.
