Ferrari reveal SF-23 in Valentine’s Day launch
14th February 2023Ferrari unveiled their usual love for red on Valentine’s Day after they revealed their 2023 championship contender, the SF-23.
At their launch event, around their headquarters in Maranello, the team revealed the showcased their championship contender in unusual fashion by taking the car straight out onto the circuit infront of a grandstand of Tifosi.
The team follow on from the likes of McLaren and Aston Martin who revealed their 2023 machinery on Monday.
The car, as usual, is painted with a red-dominated livery which remains fitting for their Valentine’s Day launch event.
The team’s returning driver line-up of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were on hand to present the teams championship challenger, alongside new Team Principle Frederic Vasseur, who moved to Ferrari from Alfa Romeo over the off-season to replace Mattia Binotto.
Ferrari will hope their driver pairing, under new leadership, will help the team overcome their problems in 2022 and pip championship rivals, Red Bull Racing, to the world title.
The Italian outfit finished the season in second-place last season, in their first return to competitive form, hindered by unreliability, driver errors and strategic/pit-stop blunders.
Ferrari previously saw championship glory with their last Drivers title back in 2007, at the hands of Kimi Raikkonen, while the team last secured the constructors title in 2008.
At the launch, the team give the Tifosi a first-hand view of the 2023 challenger as the SF-23 was blasted around the circuit at Maranello.
Despite the brief shakedown, the team will head to Bahrain for pre-season testing on February 23-25.
Mercedes will be the next team to reveal their 2023 cars on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
