Red Bull reveal RB19 and take on Ford for 2026
5th February 2023Red Bull Racing revealed their 2023 championship contender: the RB19, and announced they will be partnering up with Ford for the 2026 season.
The defending Formula 1 world champions have finally revealed their 2023 challenger; the RB19 which the Milton Keynes team hope the car will be capable of defending both the constructors and drivers world titles.
In addition, it was also revealed on Friday that Ford will return to Formula 1 in partnership with Red Bull Powertrains to provide the American car manufacturer a way back into the sport.
The car and driver line-up
When the car was revealed on Friday, in a presentation in New York City, it could’ve easily been mistaken for the team’s 2022, dominant, championship winning car: the RB18 as such the similarities between the two vehicles.
In the launch, the team have continued to run its iconic design with the dark blue, yellow and red colour scheme on the RB19, representing the company’s brand colours, with only small changes to its predecessor in regards to the sponsors decals.
The RB19 launch was also presented alongside the Milton Keynes driver line-up of, defending world champion, Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez and – third driver – Daniel Ricciardo.
Ford’s return

Ahead of Red Bull’s car launch, America’s car manufacturing giant, Ford, have announced they will intend to make a comeback in 2026 as the sport heads into a new set of engine regulations.
Ford have an extensive history in the sport after they participated in the early 1960’s with as a engine manufacturer in 1963 until 1966, a year later the team became Ford Cosworth spanning from 1967 to 2004.
Cosworth outfit of which they took 176 wins, 139 pole positions, 159 fastest laps and 535 podiums – according to StatsF1.com. During their tenure as Ford Cosworth, the team secured a number of championships; 10 constructors and 13 drivers titles.
Their first taste of glory came with Graham Hill and Lotus who secured both titles in 1968, and their last championship win was Michael Schumacher’s maiden championship win, in 1994, with Benetton.
F1’s future engine regulations which are due to commence in 2026 – increasing electrical power and 100% sustainable fuels – have enticed Ford to return to the grid alongside Red Bull Powertrains. This follows Audi’s plans to enter the sport in 2026 who have recently obtained a minority stake in Sauber to become the German manufacturer’s works team.
