It was the final hour of practice for the Spanish GP, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, as McLaren locked out the top two positions after free practice three, led by Piastri.

The Australian continued from where he left off on Friday as he topped the second hour of practice, after Norris was fastest in FP1.

It was a quiet start to the session with Alpine’s Franco Colapinto heading out first ahead of Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso, who lapped up the atmosphere of his home event.

How the final hour finished…

Piastri and Norris were the top two fastest drivers of the session, in first and second, respectively, with half a second in between the two McLaren drivers. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc completed the top three, seven-tenths behind.

Mercedes’ George Russell was best of the rest in fourth ahead of his teammate, Kimi Antonelli, who finished seventh. This left Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar to fill the void in fifth and sixth.

Alonso led the remaining drivers inside the top 10, in eighth, ahead of Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton and Racing Bull’s Liam Lawson, in ninth and 10th.

Kick Sauber were the fastest two in the bottom 10 with Gabriel Bortoleto ahead of his teammate, Nico Hulkenberg, in 11th and 12th respectively. This left Williams’ Carlos Sainz, Red Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda and Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll to complete the top 15, in 13th, 14th and 15th.

Alpine’s duo of Pierre Gasly and Colpainto occupied 16th and 17th ahead of the Haas pair, Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman, in 18th and 20th. Williams’ Alexander Albon sandwiched in between the two Haas’ in 19th.
