Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll is set to miss out the pre-season test in Bahrain this week after a ‘minor’ accident in pre-season training.

On Monday afternoon, Aston Martin released announced Stroll – son of Aston Martin Executive Chairman, Lawrence Stroll – will miss out the pre-season test this week after a ‘minor training accident.’

The team are expecting the young Canadian to make ‘a quick recovery’ and return to driving duties.

In the announcement, the team stated:

“Whilst pre-season training on a bicycle in Spain, Lance Stroll was involved in a minor accident and sustained injuries which will result in him sitting out the pre-season test in Bahrain.

“The team wishes Lance a speedy recovery and looks forward to his usual energy and commitment within the team.”

This minor accident will force Stroll to miss out the three-day test at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Aston Martin are expected to provide an update ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix, on March 3-5.

After the announcement, Stroll posted on Twitter, he said:

“Hey guys, I’ve had an unfortunate accident whilst training on my bike in preparation for the season.

“I am determined to get back in the car and I am excited about the season ahead with the team.

“I am motivated to bounce back from this set back as quickly as possible.”

It remains unclear if this will force, new arrival and double world champion, Fernando Alonso to complete the full test (in both the morning and afternoon sessions).

However, the team will also be able to call on Stoffel Vandoorne and Felipe Drugovich to take part in the test, in Stroll’s absence.

That’s all for the article; Stroll set to miss pre-season testing!

What do you think, will Alonso complete the full test or will Drugovich and Vandoorne get some time to drive the AMR23? Let us know in the comments!
