Following Formula 1’s debut in Florida for the inaugural 2022 Miami Grand Prix, the venue is expanding its grandstands with additional benefits for ticket holders.

The organisers for the F1 Miami Grand Prix have increased the total capacity around the Miami International Autodrome – the circuit which circulates around the NFL Miami Dolphin’s Hard Rock Stadium.

After its inaugural event, the venue has worked to increase its capacity as a result of high demand. As such, the organisers have expanded its capacity by 3,000 grandstand seats to bring the total up to 56,000.

To accommodate the expansion, some of the iconic features will be expanded such as The Yatch Club at the MIA Marin and the Hard Rock Beach Club. In addition, the venue has added 61 new hospitality suites and two luxury club spaces; The Vista (at Turn 1) and The Boathouse (at the MIA Marina).

Tyler Epp, President of the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix, said:

“Our first race last May was a sell-out success in which more than 240,000 spectators visited the Miami International Autodrome for an unforgettable experience.

“Due to overwhelming demand we have been maximizing the venue to increase grandstand capacity, expand hospitality and to improve the experience for our General Admission Campus Pass ticket holders, to give the opportunity for even more fans to experience the incredible spectacle of the FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX.

“In everything we do we are committed to providing an unparalleled fan experience to ensure Miami will be one of the must-attend races on the Formula 1® calendar for the next decade.”

In addition to increased grandstands, there has been an upgraded ticket to the 3-day General Admission Campus Pass which has gone on sale on Monday. This will allow more F1 fans to experience the sport and the local culture as it will provide spectators access to unqiue locations.

Some of the locations include elevated viewing platforms on Trackside Lane which is placed between turns eight and 10, as well as access to the ‘Official F1 Fan Zone’ which includes racing simulators as well as ‘food and drink offerings.’

All fans who attend the event will also gain an exclusive insight to see everything that goes on behind the scenes, from 300 level of Hard Rock Stadium which looks into the Team Village on the NFL football field.

This access is reported to be available to all ticket holders.

The expansion comes after the success of the 2022 race which provided a boost of $350 million to the local economy which ranged from the Miami region, and south Flordia.

It is expected the increased capacity will see a continued boost to the local area as the organisers have confirmed numerous programs to benefit the economy.

These programs include; an expanded ‘F1 in Schools’ programme, working with local Miami Garden restaurant partners (who will be able to showcase their business at the race) and an enhanced internship program (MIA Academy).

The second race to be held at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium is set to get underway between May 5 – May 7, 2023.
