WEC will reach its halfway point this weekend with the fifth round of the season taking place in São Paulo, Brazil, for the six-hour race. It follows on from the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, which took place in June.

Toyota stand as the championship leaders on 132 points, having won the 24 Hour race in France, last time out, with the #7 Toyota. Its sister car, #8, also finished on the podium, in third, with the #20 BMW sandwiched in between, in second.

BMW trails Toyota by 36 points in the manufacturer standings, in second place, whilst Ferrari sits third on 62 points, 70 points behind.

Following their victory at Le Mans, it means Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway and Nyck de Vries currently head the WEC drivers’ championship, on 75 points, four points ahead of the BMW’s Rene Rast and Robin Frijns.

Last time out in Brazil, it was a successful weekend for the Cadillac Hertz Team Jota, having secured a double podium finish with their #12 and #38 cars coming home first and second, respectively, ahead of the #5 Porsche Penske.

So, what are the official weekend timings and the start times for each session?

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
