Many residents in Europe are experiencing an unrelenting heatwave this week, and according to reports, the upcoming Formula 1 race weekend is not going to avoid this. As such, a ‘yellow warning for extreme high temperatures’ is in effect around the Red Bull Ring.

This warning is in place all week until Sunday, at the point of writing.

The FIA has now declared the Grand Prix a ‘heat hazard’, which made its debut last season, prompting the teams and drivers to implement cooling aids for the drivers.

This is applied if temperatures are expected to exceed 31° – as part of ‘the heat index’ – at some point across the weekend. It came as a result of the 2023 Qatar Grand Prix, when drivers suffered heat-related problems during that race.

Temperatures this weekend – including on race day – are described as ‘unseasonably hot’ with the heat sitting amongst the mid-30s, with caution advised for those ‘doing strenuous activities outside.’

So, according to AccuWeather, here’s the latest weather report.
