Following the Miami Grand Prix, rumours swirled around the mill that suggested that Ocon could lose his seat at Haas, potentially during this season, and be replaced by Jack Doohan and Yuki Tsunoda.

However, on Thursday’s media day, Ocon squashed those rumours, stating the stories had been ‘fabricated’ with no foundation. After this, the Haas Team Principal, Komatsu, backed up his driver’s remarks with a colourful rant. Komatsu said:

“I honestly don’t know where the story came from, no idea. No foundation whatsoever, absolute bull****.

“If somebody wants to write that kind of bull****, feel free, but is that journalism? I have no idea. It’s terrible. What are they trying to achieve? It’s crazy. No foundation whatsoever.”

Ocon denies Haas exit rumours ahead of Canadian GP

But when asked if the Japanese team principal had spoken to Ocon, following the rumour, Komatsu confirmed he had spoken to the Frenchman and that there was nothing to defend from their side.

Both Ocon and Komatsu both agreed on the effect the reports had. The French driver said he is human and that the rumour has affected those around him, like his family, whilst Komatsu has confirmed concerns from the Frenchman’s manager over the alleged dispute.

“It’s incredible,” Komatsu added. “Part of it is that apparently I had some issue with Esteban in Miami – where’s that come from? I didn’t even have a single argument with Esteban in Miami.

“Esteban gets worried, his manager gets worried. Esteban knows that we haven’t had any argument in Miami, at least a specific thing. This morning we were just smiling and talking about what the f***’s that about”
