The Canadian Grand Prix marks the fifth round of the 2026 campaign in three months since it started in March. It also marks the third sprint race weekend after the Miami GP, last time out.
As per the usual process, it means that there will only be a single free practice for the teams and drivers to hone in on their setups ahead of the first set of Parc Ferme conditions.
Last time out, McLaren stormed out of the blocks for the sprint race weekend as the defending world champion, Lando Norris, sealed both the sprint pole and sprint race win. However, it was business-as-usual for the main race as the current championship leader, Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli took his third consecutive pole position.
The young Italian star went on to secure his third win in a row, marking the first time in F1 history a driver has achieved such a feat.
So, when will the sessions get underway at the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix, starting May 22 until May 24?

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I’ve loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
