Following the conclusion of qualifying, where Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli took their third consecutive pole position, it has been announced by the FIA, and Formula 1 that the start time has been changed.
The race was set to start at 4pm local time (9pm BST), but now it has been brought forward to 1pm local (6pm BST).
In an announcement, the FIA, F1 and Miami Grand Prix said:
“Following discussions between FIA, F1 and the Miami promoter, the decision has been taken to move the start of Sunday’s Miami Grand Prix to 13:00 local time in Miami due to the weather forecast that is expected to bring heavier rainstorms later in the afternoon close to the original planned race start time.
“This decision has been taken to ensure the least amount of disruption to the race, and to ensure the maximum possible window to complete the Grand Prix in the best conditions and to prioritise the safety of drivers, fans, teams and staff.”

The weekend schedule has now been adjusted to accommodate this change. The Porsche Carrera Cup was originally set to get its second race underway at 11:05am, but this has been cancelled.
Formula 2 is still expected to get its feature race underway, having been added to the grand prix weekend as a late edition following the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian grand prix cancellations.
The junior series is set to get underway at 9:25am local (2:25pm BST).
