The finale of the World Endurance Championship is nearly here with the upcoming eight hours of Bahrain marking the end of the eight-race calendar in 2025. A race weekend where both the drivers and team world championships will be decided.

Whilst the focus will be on the championship fights, it also marks the end of the line for some. Jenson Button is set to undertake his final race in the series with Team Jota as he calls an end to his professional racing career, which included a Formula 1 world championship in 2009 with Brawn GP.

Additionally, it will be the last outing for the championship contender’s, Porsche, who are set to compete in their final WEC event having announced their exit from the series earlier on in the year.

Ferrari remain the championship leaders with a steady 204 points in the bank, helped by their impressive start to the season, ahead of departing-Porsche who sit 39 points behind in second place, with Cadillac bringing up the rear in third (143 points).

It will leave the Ferrari trios of Alessandro Pier Guidi, Antonio Giovinazzi and James Calado in the lead of the championship in the #50 Ferrari, on 115 points, ahead of the #83 Ferrari privateer of Philip Hanson, Robert Kubica and Yifei Ye who sit on 102pts.

The Porsche #6 defending champions, piloted by Kevin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor, round out the top three, 21 points behind (94pts).

However, and unsurprisingly, it is expected to be a dry event as the weather looks to keep at bay this weekend with a very low risk of rain, according to the latest weather reports.

So, what is the schedule for the upcoming 8 Hours of Bahrain?

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
