FIA confirm Cost Cap regulation breach after 2024 review
28th October 2025The FIA has confirmed that the review of the 2024 Financial Regulations is completed and found one team not in compliance with the regulations.

On Tuesday, the FIA confirmed the Cost Cap Administration (CCA) has completed its review of the ‘reporting documentation’ of the 2024 season, that ended on December 31, 2024.
The reports were submitted by all 10 teams that took part in the 2024 F1 World Championship. Additionally, each Power Unit manufacturer registered to supply the newest generation of power units were also checked.
In the FIA’s report, the administration found that nine of the 10 teams were within compliance of the regulations. Aston Martin was the only team to have breached the regulations with a ‘procedural breach.’
They said:
“The CCA confirms that although AMR has been found to be in Procedural Breach, it has not exceeded the Cost Cap level, and that the Procedural Breach was of a very minor nature, originated by unpredictable circumstances outside the control of the F1 Team.
“AMR and FIA have entered an ABA on 29 September 2025 to resolve the matter.”
The review also confirmed that all five Power Unit manufacturers were found in compliance last season.
These regulations were introduced in the F1 championship back in 2021, after a unanimous agreement amongst the teams. It limits the spending of the teams to ensure long-term viability of the championship, encouraging tighter performance amongst the teams and closer racing.
