Azerbaijan stands as the first event to restart the journey around the world after six back-to-back races in Europe, spanning from the Austrian Grand Prix to the Italian Grand Prix.
This weekend could be a championship-winning event as McLaren continues to reign out in front.
The Woking-based team hold a staggering 617 points in the constructors’ championship, 337 points clear of their closest rivals, Ferrari. It means, with eight rounds left to go, McLaren could go on to secure their second consecutive title on Sunday.
The championship has been blown open after Lando Norris’ mechanical retirement at the Dutch Grand Prix. Oscar Piastri currently stands with a 31-point advantage in the championship after the McLaren drivers finished 2-3 in Monza, last time out.
So, with a title on the line this weekend, and dry weather expected, how does the weather shape up for the event, according to the Met Office?
Friday
According to the forecast, the opening day of the weekend is expected to be cloudy with a fair chance of rain, with a probability of around 30-40% throughout the day.
Temperatures will be as high as 22° with a slight drop to 21° for Free Practice 2
Saturday
The following day is expected to see more sun with sunny intervals expected for both Free Practice 3 and qualifying. Additionally, there is a low chance of rain, standing around 10-20% across the day.
Temperatures will climb up to highs of 21° during FP3, before dropping once more to 20° for qualifying.
Sunday
Race day is forecast to follow on from Saturday with sunny intervals before race time, but the Sun is expected to be out and bask Baku in sunny conditions from 4pm.
Race temperatures will be around 21° before they start to dip as the day wears on. There remains a low chance of rain for the Grand Prix, holding at 20-10%.
