Ogier has taken victory in Chile, after securing maximum points in the South American country, and the eight-time world champion has snatched away the championship lead from Evans, with three more rounds to go.

Ogier took the rally lead on Saturday evening, overtaking Evans after preserving his Hankook tyres.

He followed this up on Sunday with a dominant performance, securing maximum points on Super Sunday – securing three of four stage wins, and he toppled Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville in the power stage by 0.4 seconds.

In the end, it means Ogier took victory over Evans, who finished in second place, by 11 seconds, as Adrien Fourmaux completed the podium in third place, having led the rally on Friday.

The Frenchman finished the rally 46.5 seconds off Ogier’s leading pace.

Provisionally, with a maximum score in Chile, it means Ogier takes the championship lead with 224 points, two points ahead of Evans (222 pts), and 21 points ahead of Toyota’s two-time world champion Kalle Rovanpera.

Additionally, Oliver Solberg, in the WRC2 category, has taken victory of the rally in their respective class. As a result, it has sealed the WRC2 drivers’ title for the Swedish driver.

The WRC will return for two more asphalt rallies, in the Central European and Japanese Rally, before they return to gravel for the Saudi Arabian Rally, which marks the season finale.

WRC’s next event, the Central European Rally, will take place on October 16 – 19, 2026.
