F1 extend Monaco Grand Prix contract until 2035
5th September 2025Formula 1 has confirmed that the Monaco Grand Prix will keep a place on the calendar until the 2035 season after the venue extends its contract.

Having previously extended its current contract, set to expire until the 2031 season, Formula 1 has confirmed that the Monaco Grand Prix will remain on the F1 calendar until 2035, extending its place for another four years.
Monaco is notorious for its difficulty in overtaking, accompanied by the circuits tight-barrier-close nature through the twisty streets of Monte-Carlo, and has been under the microscope in recent years with the possibility it could be axed from the championship calendar.
The circuit demands full concentration from the drivers and it tests their skills on the road to the fullest, one simple mistake could see them take a visit into the barrier, or a lock up into a tight escape road.
However, the sport has now extended its contract and it will remain on the calendar for another 10 years.
“The streets of Monaco have been echoing with the sound of Formula 1 since the earliest days of the sport, so I’m delighted to announce the extension of this fantastic event to 2035,” commented Formula 1 President and CEO, Stefano Domenicali.
“It is an iconic race that is loved by all drivers and fans, with a unique vibe thanks to its location on the world’s most glamorous Principality.
“I would like to say a special thank you to His Serene Highness, Prince Albert II of Monaco, Michel Boeri, President of the Automobile Club of Monaco and everyone involved in securing the long-term future of this historic partnership.”
Recently, Monaco’s very own Ferrari driver, Charles Leclerc broke history in the venue as he became the very first Monegasque to win the Grand Prix in 2024, on way to Ferrari’s runner-up position in the constructors championship.
Additionally, McLaren’s Lando Norris finally made an appearance on the top step of the podium as he secured victory over Leclerc and Oscar Piastri.
“The renewal of the Monaco Grand Prix until 2035 is in keeping with a sporting and historical
tradition to which the Principality remains deeply attached,” said His Serene Highness, Prince Albert II of Monaco.
“I can only welcome this renewed commitment, which is testament to our collective success, the excellence of our collaboration with Formula 1, and the unique place that Monaco occupies in the international motorsport landscape.”
