F1 Mid-Season Ranking #15: Oliver Bearman
12th August 2025Haas’ Oliver Bearman endured a painful start to his rookie Formula 1 season but, since then, how has he fared in the sport in 2025?

Haas was one of two teams who brought all-new line ups to the grid in 2025, with Bearman joining the grid, after a handful of substitute performances in 2024 for both Ferrari and Haas, alongside Esteban Ocon.
It was not the smoothest re-entry into the sport, in his rookie season, as the British driver retired twice in two practice sessions in Melbourne, Australia for the season opener: once in the barrier (FP1) and beaching his car in the gravel (FP3).
Following that, the Briton seemed to bounce back with some good results in the races that succeeded Australia. However, according to our rankings, he dipped as the sport headed into Europe.
It was certainly not helped by the Briton’s needless mistakes under red flags such as overtaking under red flags in Monaco or racing to the pit entry in Britain.
In our rankings, we have a tie – so far – for his best weekend of the season with the Chinese and Belgium races obtaining 13 points for both events. He has also become the first driver, in our list, to achieve over 100 points across the season, sitting on 102 for the season so far.
Against his experienced teammate, Ocon is leading the Briton in qualifying trim pipping Bearman in traditional qualifying 8-6, and he is yet to beat the Frenchman in sprint qualifying with Ocon leading 2-0.
This is similar in race trim with Ocon pipping Bearman 9-5 in the Grand Prix whereas Bearman is narrowly ahead in the sprint races, leading 2-1 over Ocon.
So, how has Bearman fared so far in 2025?

DISCLAIMER:
As previously confirmed, we rank drivers out of 20 points across each race weekend of the season. The highest performing, or best driver, of the weekend would get a maximum score of 20 points, while each driver below them would be ranked one point less.
If a driver does not start a race, they will be automatically given one point.
If more than one driver does not start a race, these points will be handed out in order it is announced i.e. Driver 1 (D1) is announced not to start two hours before the race start, but Driver 2 (D2) retires on the way to – or on – the grid, D1 will get one point and D2 will get two points.
