In his ninth season of Formula 1, Stroll has had a mixed bag season with decent performances at times, in what has been one of the worst cars on the grid, yet he has endured a painful season – in more ways than one – in 2025.
Across the season, Stroll has been flanked on pace by his two-time world champion teammate, Fernando Alonso, who has slammed the door shut and sealed it closed for 2025.
In qualifying head-to-heads, Alonso leads 14-0 in traditional qualifying, but the Canadian remains in play for sprint qualifying, where the scores are 2-1, with Alonso narrowly leading the way.
At the same time, Stroll has now picked up a much-unwanted accolade this season, in qualifying, which saw him become the driver with the most Q1 exits, with 75, since the Sport introduced the three-segment session.
Stroll’s saving grace against his teammate is in the actual Grand Prix, where he trails 9-5 behind Alonso in the head-to-heads. So far, the Canadian has completed the first half of sprint races unbeaten against his teammate, leading the way 3-0.
His best result so far comes at the tricky season opener, where he finished the wet Australian Grand Prix in sixth, from 13th on the grid.
However, the Canadian’s luck of fortunes could be turning after a new upgrade seemed to be working in Hungary, which gave Stroll his best qualifying position of the season, seventh.
Understandably, Stroll is the first, and lowest, full-time driver on the rankings, having competed in almost every Grand Prix of the season. The only one he missed was the Spanish Grand Prix due to pain in his wrist and hand, following his pre-season incident in 2023.
Thanks to a turbulent season for Alpine, in terms of their driver market, Stroll has a comfortable cushion over Franco Colapinto, who occupies 20th in our rankings, with 20 points to their name under our scoring.

DISCLAIMER:
As previously confirmed, we rank drivers out of 20 points across each race weekend of the season. The highest performing, or best driver, of the weekend would get a maximum score of 20 points, while each driver below them would be ranked one point less.
As part of our scoring, Stroll scored one point at the Spanish Grand Prix even though he did not start the race. We decided that if a driver does not start the race, unless they’re replaced, they will automatically score a single point.
If more than one driver does not start, these points will be handed out in order it is announced i.e. Driver 1 (D1) is announced not to start two hours before the race start, but Driver 2 (D2) is retires on the way to – or on – the grid, D1 will get one point and D2 will get two points.
