Solberg has put in an impressive performance in his Toyota Rally1 debut in 2025 as the Swede took the rally lead from start to finish on Friday, day two of the Estonian event.
The Swedish driver sat in seventh, overall, on Thursday night, 1.8 seconds off the lead of Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville. However, on the first pass of Peipsiääre (SS2), the Toyota driver clinched the rally lead by going 5.3 seconds faster than anyone else.
Solberg went on to clinch three stage wins, including his first WRC stage win on SS2, with the fastest times on the second pass of Peipsiääre, and the second pass of Kambja (SS7).
As such, the Swede driver finished the day with the rally lead, 12.4 seconds ahead of the Hyundai pairing; Ott Tanak and Neuville, who sit in second and third overall, respectively. The two world champions are separated by 1.8 seconds.
Toyota’s Kalle Rovanpera stands as best of the rest, currently, in fourth place ahead of Hyundai’s Adrien Fourmaux, in fifth, who took a stage win on the first pass of Kambja (SS6).
A trio of Toyota drivers follow Fourmaux, headed by Takamoto Katsuta, followed by Elfyn Evans and Sami Pajari in sixth, seventh and eighth.
M-Sport Ford’s trio brought up the rear with Martins Sesks leading the group, in ninth, as Joshua McErlean and Gregoire Munster trailed behind in 10th and 11th.
Saturday is set to be another action-packed day with nine stages to be completed, starting with the 21.45km Raanitsa stage, which will get underway at 8:23am local time.
