Oliver Solberg leads WRC Rally Estonia after morning loop
18th July 2025Toyota’s Oliver Solberg leads Rally Estonia, in the World Rally Championship, as the second day of action heads into midday service.

The Swedish driver put in a decent stint on the opening stage, leading the way on the 1.76km opening stage, before being beaten by teammate Takamoto Katsuta, Kalle Rovanpera and Elfyn Evans.
When the action resumed, the Swede continued with his good form and currently leads Rally Estonia by 8.5 seconds over his closest rival, Hyundai’s home hero Ott Tanak who occupies second.
So far, the stage wins have been split evenly between Solberg and Tanak who have two stage wins each on Friday so far. Solberg took the opening honours on SS2 Peipsiääre, and the rally lead, before taking another stage win on the second pass.
It was Solberg’s first WRC stage win and it prompted an emotional response from the Swede when he heard about his achievement, in addition to taking the rally lead, at the stage end of SS2
Tanak repeated Solberg’s action on the Mustvee stage, taking the stage win on the first and second passes.
Solberg’s teammate, Kalle Rovanpera rounds out the top three, in third, ahead of Hyundai’s defending world champion Thierry Neuville. Toyota’s Takamoto Katsuta, Evans and Sami Pajari occupied fifth, sixth and eighth, respectively, with Hyundai’s Adrien Fourmaux in seventh.
M-Sport Ford’s trio complete the Rally1 classification, headed by Joshua McErlean in ninth ahead of Martins Sesks and Gregoire Munster, in 10th and 11th.
The action will resume with the first pass of Kambja which will get underway at 3:44pm local time.
