Ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, the 20 drivers were allowed to drive 10 life-sized F1 cars, which were made of LEGO. This was a replacement of the usual flatbed truck that the drivers usually take around the circuit, ahead of the race.
The 10 cars where designed in their liveries, equipped with authentic Pirelli tyres, weighing 1,000kg with 400,000 lego bricks and capable of reaching speeds of 20km/h.
And, it wasn’t long before carnage began to ensue as drivers forced each other off the track, pinched to the barrier or made contact with each other.
In a TikTok video, F1 showcased the aftermath of the ‘LEGO car chaos’ When the cars had returned.
In the short video, it was revealed that Mercedes’ big build has damaged wheel covers on their Pirelli’s.
In addition, some of the cars had sustained some sort of LEGO damage. Sections of the cars were missing sections whereas some had some lego grazed off their respective cars.
Following the Miami Grand Prix, the cars are expected to go on a ‘global tour’ and are set to make future appearances in future races as the sport continues to celebrate their partnership with the LEGO Group.
@f1 Replying to @On Behalf of Enoki 5/15 think the master builders will have to take these cars back to the garage 😅 @LEGO #f1 #formula1 #miamigp
