Oscar Piastri led a dominant McLaren 1-2 finish at the Miami Grand Prix to extend his Formula 1 championship lead, but where did everyone else finish?

It was a dominant performance by the two McLarens as Piastri took his fourth win of the season and Lando Norris backed up a 1-2 finish on the podium.

The two McLarens were in a different league on Sunday as they finished over 30 seconds ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell, in third, who maintained his position after a failed protest by Red Bull Racing.

Williams’ Carlos Sainz and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly both avoided punishment for failing to slow under yellow flags, when Kick Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto retired. Both drivers received a warning for their incidents. The former also avoided punishment for causing a collision with Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton at turn 17, on the final lap.

There were four retirements in the grand prix following early crashes and mechanical failures.

Red Bull’s Liam Lawson and Alpine’s Jack Doohan suffered a lap one crash, the latter later retired on the first lap after his tyre was ripped from its rim. Lawson retired later on in the race nursing the damage sustained in the race.

Oliver Bearman, Haas, and Bortoleto were forced to retire out on the track with power unit problems prompting Virtual Safety Cars.
