F1: the latest weather report ahead of Miami GP

F1 will return this weekend for yet another sprint race, which will take place in Miami, in the United States of America, the first of three American races on the 2025 calendar.
McLaren’s Oscar Piastri has taken over as the Drivers’ Championship leader, having leapfrogged his teammate Lando Norris after a successful triple header.
In the triple header, Piastri took back-to-back victories in both Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to put him at the top of the standings with 99 points to his name, 10 points more than Norris.
This weekend will mark the second sprint race weekend, following the Chinese Grand Prix earlier this year. So, according to the Met Office, what does the weather look like this weekend?
The Miami Weather Report
On the opening day of the weekend, the weather is expected to be dry and sunny with sunny intervals around Free Practice 1 before the sun comes out in all its glory for sprint qualifying.
Temperatures are expected to start around 26° for FP1 before increasing by a degree for sprint qualifying. Rain is unexpected, with the chance of rain standing at less than 5%.
On Saturday, the temperatures are expected to be similar as it’s forecasted to start at 26°, for the sprint, and increase up to 28° for qualifying. Similarly, it’s expected to be dry with sunny intervals and sun.
However, the chance of rain does increase compared to the previous day with the sprint holding onto a 20% of rain before increasing up to 30%
On race day, temperatures will be as high as 28° with a maximum chance of rain at 40%. Whilst the temperature is expected to hold steady, the chance of rain will drop to 30% before increasing back to 40% during the race.
According to the Met Office, it’s expected to be a dry and sunny race for the fourth edition of the Miami Grand Prix.
