Verstappen to compete in ERC season for 2025
31st January 2025Jos Verstappen, former Formula 1 driver, is set to take on the European Rally Championship and the Belgian Rally Championship this year, as part of his programme.

Verstappen, father to Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen, is set to take on a full season of the ERC alongside his commitments to the BRC.
The former Formula 1 driver, who had 107 grand prix starts to his name from 1994 to 2003, has enjoyed his time in the rallying scene following in the footsteps of former F1 drivers like Kimi Raikkonen, Robert Kubica and Heikki Kovalainen.
Speaking on the Dutch-Belgian podcast, Op De Rallykoffie, Verstappen confirmed he is set to compete in the entire ERC championship alongside the BRC, whilst remaining involved his his son’s stunning F1 career.

He said:
“This year, I’ve got 19 or 20 events planned: every BRC rally, every ERC rally, the Rallye International du Valais, and a historic rally in Sweden.
“And we’re also doing the East African Safari Classic Rally with the Porsche. We have an insanely beautiful programme.”
Despite being interested and enjoying his time rallying, when the Dakar was brought up claimed he did not believe the iconic Dakar Rally was one for him.
The opening round of the ERC will be the Rally Sierra Morena-Cordoba, which will take place from April 4 to 6.
This means he will not be present in Japan when his son, four-time Formula 1 world champion, heads there with F1 and Red Bull on the same weekend.
