Ricciardo, who has driven for a series of F1 teams, including Visa Cash App RB most recently, has seemingly confirmed that he is ‘done’ with Formula 1 after being let go following the Singapore Grand Prix.
This claim emerged after the 35-year-old was seen on a video with a fan, circulating on social media, amid speculation that he could be picked up for the Cadillac entry when they join the grid in 2026 – subject to approval.
In the video, the Australian was asked ‘No Cadillac?’ to which the Australian driver responded immediately: ‘Nah, I’m done,’ supporting this with a hand gesture and his iconic smile.

Ricciardo returned to the grid partway through 2023 to replace the underperforming Nyck de Vries at Alpha Tauri—now VCARB. The move was set as a backup plan for the senior team in case they needed to replace the underperforming Sergio Perez.
However, Ricciardo’s performance was deemed not to meet Red Bull’s standards, and he was replaced by Liam Lawson for a second time – following Ricciardo’s injury in 2023 – from the United States Grand Prix.
Ricciardo’s former teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, and his successor, Lawson, are reportedly in the running to replace Perez. An update has yet to be confirmed regarding whether the Mexican Red Bull driver will be racing next season with Red Bull apparently in talks to terminate Perez’s contract with the team.
Despite being out of the sport since October, it appears the Australian is enjoying his time away from motorsport through a series of posts and videos shared on social media.

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I’ve loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
