Sainz crashed out of qualifying at the final corner of the Singaporean Marina Bay Street Circuit, just as the Spaniard was starting his first run of Q3.
Ahead of his run, Ferrari’s Spaniard was slowly moving towards the start line as he waited for Piastri to filter on through as the Australian was on a hot lap.
However, as the Spaniard finished his preparation, he spun out and reversed into the barrier heavily. It means the #55 SF-24 will start the Singapore GP from 10th on the grid.
Sainz was soon heard over the team radio self-evaluating the crash, he wasn’t sure if it was caused by cold tyres or dirty air. However, he was fine and climbed out of the wreckage.

His car was worse-for-wear and it was extracted from the barrier with its significantly damaged suspension keeping the rear-left tyre attached, as it hung from the recovery vehicle.
Sainz’s trouble did not stop there as he was noted by the stewards for crossing the track on foot.
Despite this, the Spaniard will still be investigated by the stewards for not following the race director’s instruction, as he did not go around the bollard at turn three in Q1.

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I’ve loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
