On Thursday, on the eve of the Singapore GP, Mclaren and their official primary partner OKX, have revealed a limited-edition ‘Legend Reborn’ livery which will be showcased under the lights around the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

This new one-off livery was made to celebrate the team’s iconic MP4 era of the team which spanned from 1981 to 1996.

This will be unveiled at an exclusive on-track event which will feature McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown, F1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri and OKX’s Chief Marketing Officer Haider Rafique.

On the announcement, McLaren Racing’s Chief Marketing Officer, Louise McEwen said:

“It is fantastic to bring back our third bespoke livery in Singapore with OKX. Legend Reborn is a great way to celebrate and honour our iconic history, in a way that unites fans old and new.

“Following on from this year’s Senna campaign, this livery further embodies our partnership with OKX as we continue to deliver unique storytelling campaigns for McLaren fans and OKX customers globally.”

The livery will also honour some of McLaren’s iconic legends such as Ayrton Senna, who was remembered with McLaren’s Senna livery this year, Alain Prost and Niki Lauda.

The team will keep it’s papaya colour on the car but it has integrated the iconic white of the MP4 series throughout the MCL38. 13 iconic drivers from the era will also be integrated into the livery on the cockpit of the cars.

“Together with McLaren, we believe in the power of persistence and innovation,” commented OKX’s Chief Marketing Officer, Rafique. “This year we’ve rolled out some upgrades of our own, including a complete revamp of our Wallet, which will make it easier for people around the world to access the onchain world.”

“We believe crypto, like F1, can be disrupted by a visionary team that innovates fearlessly and embraces a ‘challenger’ mindset. The time for a new alternative to the established hierarchy is here, and Legend Reborn encourages us to look to the past for inspiration as we chart a new course for the future.”

This announcement makes McLaren the third team on the grid to bring a special livery to Singapore with Mercedes celebrating Petronas’ 50th anniversary, and Visa Cash App RB bringing a Denim-inspired livery.
