On Thursday, Aston Martin F1 announced Stroll’s future and confirmed the Canadian driver will remain at the team with Alonso alongside as his teammate.
The 25-year-old has been with the team since his father, Lawrence Stroll took over the team in 2018. From there the Stroll’s have been in the team following rebrands to Racing Point and Aston Martin.
In the statement, Aston Martin confirmed Stroll will be at the team for the new era of the sports regulations (2026) ‘and beyond.’
On the announcement, the F1 driver said:
“I’m super happy to have committed to staying with the team for 2025 and beyond. It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come in the last five years; we’ve grown so much as a team and there’s still so much more to look forward to.”
In his tenure at the pinnacle of single-seaters, Stroll has secured a total of 285 career championship points with three podiums to boot.
He also collected a pole position start at the 2020 Turkish Grand Prix when he partnered Sergio Perez at then-named Racing Point.
“We are delighted to confirm Lance’s future with Aston Martin Aramco,” said Aston Martin Team Principal, Mike Krack. “He has played a key role in building this team. His technical feedback, alongside his committed simulator work, has helped contribute to the continuous development of the car each season.
“The consistency and stability of both Lance and Fernando remaining with our team is a great platform to continue to realise our ambitions.”
Following the news of both Gasly and Stroll’s contract extension, it means the 2025 driver line-up is inching once more to completion.
Only seven seats, across six F1 teams, remain vacant as we head into the annual summer break.

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I’ve loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
