Red Bull complete F1 car launch with RB20

15th February 2024 0 By Kamron Kent

Red Bull Racing completed the Formula One car launches as they revealed their championship defender, the RB20, as the team looks to defend both their titles for a second-consecutive season.

Red Bull will be hoping for similar success from their 2024 contender; the RB20, after a season where the team – and one driver – completely dominated with 21 of 22 race wins (for the team) in 2023.

The Milton Keynes’ outfit completed the F1 car launch line-up as the defending champions were the last of the 10 teams to launch their championship contender.

In a similar stance to the rest of the field, the team will head into 2024 with the same driver line-up of, three-time world champion, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.

2024 will mark the duo’s third season together following their first season in 2021.

This year’s model of Red Bull’s machinery is an evolution of its predecessor, which has a mountain to climb to meet the statistics of its previous model.

Verstappen reset the clock on a handful of records during his championship success, securing 19 of 22 wins (beating his previous best of 15). The Dutchman also secured the sport’s most consecutive race wins in a season of 10, beating Sebastian Vettel’s previous best of nine in 2013.

While the colour scheme and livery design remain the same as the iconic Red Bull design, the car has some clear differences. The side pods primarily catch the eye with their new, more aggressive, shape.

Now that the pre-season car launches are complete, the official pre-season test will begin at the Bahrain International Circuit from February 21 – 23.

The F1 season officially kicks off with the season-opener for the Bahrain Grand Prix a week later at the same circuit.

Due to Ramadan, the season will start on Thursday, February 29 with the Grand Prix set to get underway on Saturday, March 2.

That’s all for the article; Red Bull complete F1 car launch with RB20!

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
