Ferrari reveal name of 2024 championship car

Scuderia Ferrari has revealed the name of their 2024 championship contender, ahead of the upcoming season, which will be named the SF-24.

Following previous instalments of their Formula One machinery, the iconic Italian team will continue on naming their car in order of the year they will compete in.

The car will be named the SF-24, SF standing for Scuderia Ferrari followed by the year. The team opted for this naming process for the majority of the hybrid era when it was first used in 2015 with the SF15-T.

The only other exception to this was in 2022 when the team named the car SF-75, nodding to the company’s 75th birthday.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will remain as the team’s driver line-up which has remained the same over the last four years when Sainz joined his Monegasque teammate in 2021.

Leclerc has recently signed a new contract with the team which will keep him at Maranello past 2024. However, Sainz’s seat at Ferrari is still under doubt as the Spaniard enters his final season in his current contract.

Despite being the only team to give Red Bull an honest fight for the title when the sport entered the new regulations in 2022, the team dropped from second (2022) to third (2023) – behind Red Bull and Mercedes.

Ferrari, the only team other than Red Bull to secure a win last year, will be looking to pounce on the increased performance that they left in 2023 in the hope they return to the front of the grid in 2024.

The car will be officially launched on February 13, 2024, slotted between Aston Martin (Feb 13), Mercedes and McLaren’s car launches (Feb 14).

That’s all for the article; Ferrari reveal name of 2024 championship car!

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
