McLaren has been the first team of the 2024 Formula One grid to reveal their 2024 contender as they dropped the livery for the MCL38 ahead of the upcoming season.

Whilst the rest of the grid schedule in their reveal dates, ahead of pre-season testing in Bahrain, the Woking-based outfit just threw their livery out into the public as the first constructor to unveil their 2024 contender.

On Monday, it was a surprising launch although the F1 community was sceptical of something happening as McLaren cleaned their Instagram profile clear of their older posts.

The team hinted that something was in the mix as they revealed a new slogan of ‘Whatever it takes,’ on social media.

On the launch, McLaren Racing CEO, Zak Brown said:

“We’re delighted to launch our 2024 Formula 1 livery ahead of the new season. The design looks awesome, and I can’t wait to go racing and see it come to life on track next month.

“We didn’t start 2023 as we wanted but Andrea and the team did a great job following the organisational restructure coming into action, and the hard work continues as we carry that excellent momentum into the 2024 campaign.

“I’m confident the exciting pairing of Lando and Oscar will continue to create more mega memories together after such an impressive second half of last year which saw the team finish fourth in the championship with 302 points. These are all steps forward from the year before as we continue our mission to push and compete at the front of the grid.”

The car still incorporates the iconic papaya colour scheme but has maintained parts of their impressive OKX’s Stealth Mode livery.

Chrome also returns to the team, with the driver numbers, having been featured with the team from 2006 to 2015 with a small feature in 2023.

McLaren’s 2024 contender, the MCL38  consists of a papaya and anthracite colour scheme. The car looks to be made up of a 50/50 colour scheme, evenly sharing the papaya with the anthracite throughout the car.

The car will be officially revealed on February 14, just before the team make their way to the Middle East for the pre-season test on the Bahrain International Circuit, in Bahrain.

That’s all for the article; McLaren drop surprise MCL38 livery ahead of 2024 F1 season!
