Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur to miss Saturday running after medical checks
6th June 2026Ferrari has confirmed that their team principal, Fred Vasseur, will not be present on Saturday after the French team boss remains under observation at a local medical facility.

On Saturday morning, the Italian squad confirmed that their team boss, Vasseur, is ‘under observation’ after being admitted to a local medical facility. As such, the French team principal will not be in attendance at the Monaco Circuit for qualifying.
In an announcement, Ferrari confirmed:
“Fred Vasseur will not be present at the circuit today.
“Following some medical checks, Fred will remain under observation at a local medical facility.
“No further medical information will be provided.
“We wish Fed a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back at the track soon.”

It remains unclear, so far, what has happened to Vasseur, who was present at the track for Friday practice. The Frenchman was able to watch both his drivers top the timing boards in both FP1 and FP2, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton going fastest overall, in the respective sessions.
The two Ferraris remain the favourites this weekend, as the circuit’s unique characteristics favour Ferrari’s package. As such, the French team boss will not be at the track to watch his drivers try to fight in qualifying, later today.
