Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc summoned to stewards ahead of Monaco GP
4th June 2026Both Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and McLaren’s Lando Norris have been summoned to the stewards ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix for being late during a media day press conference.

Ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix, it was business as usual with media day getting underway as normal on Thursday. However, both Leclerc and Norris have been summoned to the officials for being allegedly late for Thursday’s press conference.
Both drivers are set to report to the stewards on Friday morning at 10am and 10:10am, for Leclerc and Norris’ respective incidents, before hitting the track for the first time this weekend.
In the stewards report, both drivers were given identical reasons for their summons:
“Alleged breach of Article B10.1.1.a of the FIA F1 Regulations – Late attendance of the Thursday Press Conference.”
Both drivers had reported to the press conference and conducted their usual media duties infront of the press. However, it remains a breach of the F1 sporting regulations.
As per the regulations, ‘Media Activities & Official Ceremonies,’ under Article 10.1 – Media Activities – six drivers are selected to participate in official media and promotional activities which are defined by the media delegate.
These six individuals are separated into two groups of three, over two individual one-hour slots, 23 hours before the start of Free Practice 1.
Any driver who is not selected for the official FIA press conference must take part in a separate written or broadcast media session, organised by their team. However, this mustn’t be held at the same time as the official FIA press conference.
Both Norris and Leclerc will be competing in the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend. Norris will be taking part in an important milestone for McLaren as the Woking-based team celebrate their 1,000th grand prix start. Whereas Leclerc will complete in his first home race since Ferrari confirmed his contract extension.
Free Practice 1 will get underway at 1:30pm local time.
