Following the conclusion of qualifying, it was revealed that the French driver would face disqualification after it was revealed that the Red Bull RB23 had broken technical regulations.
The car was flagged on its rear floor, with the sides exceeding the allowed reference volume by 2mm on both the right and left-hand sides.
Both the team and Hadjar were summoned to the stewards in the early hours of the day, at 7am, as per the summons. According to the steward’s report, the team did not dispute the findings from the Technical Delegate, Jo Bauer.
As such, and as per the usual process for a technical breach, Hadjar was disqualified from qualifying for the Miami Grand Prix.

In the report, the stewards said:
“The Stewards heard from the team representatives of Car 6 (Isack Hadjar).
“They did not dispute the findings of the Technical Delegate that portions of the LHS [left-hand side] and RHS [right-hand side] floor boards were protruding 2mm out of the reference volume RV-FLOOR BOARD.
“This is a breach of Article C3.5.5 of the FIA F1 Regulations and the usual consequences follow an admitted breach of the technical regulations.”
Following the disqualification, the stewards soon received a request to allow Hadjar to participate in the race despite being disqualified.
The stewards have granted the Frenchman to start the race, and he will be positioned last on the grid, in 22nd, behind both Audi’s Gabriel Bortoleto and Cadillac’s Sergio Perez.
