Alpine has confirmed it will display the logo of Helen’s Pink Sky Foundation at the upcoming United States Grand Prix and throughout the weekend, to raise awareness of late infantile Batten Disease.

It is a rare disease which is estimated to occur in two to four of every 100,000 births in the United States. It results in progressive neurological impairment, which includes developmental regression, seizures, blindness, behaviour changes and dementia.

In their preview of the event, Alpine said:

“Throughout the US Grand Prix weekend, BWT Alpine Formula One Team will be proudly supporting Helen’s Pink Sky Foundation.

“The team will feature the logo of the charity on the A525 for the entire weekend to raise awareness of Late Infantile Batten Disease, alongside Arctic Wolf.”

The foundation was founded this year, inspired by four-year-old Helen Born and is dedicated to funding research to find a cure for the devastating disease.

Additionally, the foundation also supports families impacted by Batten Disease.

Formula 1 is not the first motorsport to raise awareness of this disease, as IndyCar team Meyer Shank Racing pledged long-term support to the foundation back in May.

It was reported that the IndyCar team will continue to support the foundation until a cure is found.

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
