Formula 1 will return to the Temple of Speed this weekend, at the iconic Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, for round 16 of 24. It will be the final European race of the season, and it will conclude the current double header consisting of the Dutch and Italian Grand Prix.
McLaren returned to form after the summer break, with Oscar Piastri clinching his ninth win of the season at the Dutch Grand Prix, as Lando Norris suffered an unfortunate problem with reliability as his car retired with mechanical problems.
Currently, the McLaren duo have won seven of eight races in Europe, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen sealing the first European victory of the season back in May, for the Emilia-Romanga Grand Prix.
Ferrari will also be heading home to their beloved Tifosi on the back of a double DNF at the Dutch Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton hitting the barrier and Charles Leclerc being hit by Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli.
This weekend looks to be a dry weekend, avoiding the thundery showers which are expected to hit the region on Tuesday morning. So, according to BBC Weather, what does the weather look like for the Italian GP?
The weather report
Friday
The opening day of the event is expected to be sunny, according to the weather reports, with temperatures rising for Free Practice 1 up to 25° before increasing up to 26° for FP2.
Additionally, it is expected to be dry with no chance of rain late on in the afternoon and only a 4% chance during FP1.
Saturday
Saturday will be similar except for the final hour of practice as the forecast states there will be sunny intervals during FP3, but this is expected to clear into sunny conditions for qualifying. Temperatures will start as low as 23° for FP3, but are expected to rise up to 25° by the time qualifying swings around.
There is a low chance of rain, hovering low at 6-7% but the forecast claims there will be no chance of rain for qualifying.
Sunday
Similarly to Friday, it is expected to be glorious and sunny for race day with no chance of rain expected. Temperatures will be as high as 26° when the race gets underway at 3pm local time.
