On Saturday morning, the FIA Technical Delegate, Jo Bauer, reported that both Aston Martin and Racing Bulls broke curfew overnight.

The report stated that both team personnel, who are ‘associated with the operation of the car,’ were within the confines of the Zandvoort during the 11 and a half hour period that started at 9pm.

Both teams suffered car issues during the opening day of the Dutch Grand Prix, following the sports return from the summer break.

Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll suffered a heavy crash at turn three, in Free Practice 2, which brought out the first of two red flags. The Canadian reported that he was fine after the accident, but the car suffered significant damage to its suspension.

Additionally, Racing Bull’s Isack Hadjar lost power on track and pulled off to the side, and it prompted a virtual safety car to allow the marshals to remove the car from the circuit.

In an identical statement, the Technical Delegate reported:

“Last night team personnel of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team [and VISA Cash App Racing Bulls Formula One Team], who are associated with the operation of the car, were within the confines of the circuit during the eleven and a half (11.5) hour period which commenced at 21:00 on 29 August, fourteen and a half (14.5) hours before the scheduled start time of P3 and ends three (3) hours before the scheduled start time of P3 at 08:30 on 30 August.”

It was confirmed that this breach for both Aston Martin and Racing Bulls was their first of the season, which the teams are allowed two, and no further action will be taken against them.

The Technical Delegate also confirmed that Aston Martin had completed the Self-Scrutineering declaration form after the team changed Stroll’s survival cell.
