After a year on the sidelines, both Bottas and Perez will rejoin the grid next year as Cadillac drivers, the team confirmed on Tuesday. It follows significant speculation that the two would join the team during the summer break.

Bottas was axed from Kick Sauber at the end of the season, allowing the team to take on an all-new lineup of Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto. Perez was removed from his seat in Red Bull after a disappointing season at the Milton Keynes team, replaced by Liam Lawson for 2025.

It was speculated that the American car manufacturer would sign at least one US driver for the squad, but, as recently rumoured, the team have opted for a more experienced driver line-up.

Combined, the two drivers have 527 starts, accumulating 106 podiums and 16 wins.

Perez stands as the most successful Mexican F1 driver with six wins to his name, beating the only other Mexican driver to win an F1 race: Pedro Rodriguez. On the other hand, Bottas has picked up 10 during his tenure at Mercedes, alongside Lewis Hamilton, spanning from 2017 to 2021.

As such, only six seats remain vacant for the 2026 grid with a handful of teams yet to confirm their full driver line-ups, or to complete them.
