The penultimate Dutch Grand Prix has gotten underway today at Zandvoort, after confirmation in December that the event will not be on the calendar after 2026, and McLaren’s Norris has topped the table.

The Briton led home a 1-2 finish in the opening hour of practice ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri, and the Woking-based team finished ahead of both Aston Martin drivers; Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso, in third and fourth, respectively.

Home hero, Max Verstappen could only muster sixth-best in the opening hour of practice, slotting in between former teammate and now Williams driver, Alexander Albon (5th) and Mercedes’ George Russell (7th).

Russell’s teammate Kimi Antonelli brought out the red flags after the young Italian beached his car in the gravel at turn 9, after suffering understeer and heading off track. The session finally resumed with 40 minutes left on the clock spurring a busy track.

With the first practice session complete, the teams will prepare for the second practice session which is expected to get underway at 4pm local time.

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
