Paraguay is set to make its official WRC debut this weekend as a host country, making it the third South American WRC competition after Argentina and Chile. It is an unknown to most drivers and teams as most have not competed in the region and have not had the opportunity to test there prior to the event.

Toyota’s Elfyn Evans reclaimed the drivers championship lead after the Rally Finland and will be set to open up the road on Friday morning. This comes after the previous championship leader, Hyundai’s Ott Tanak suffered a poor weekend, compounding a bad weekend for the South Korean manufacturer.

Following the event, the championship remains as tight as ever heading into Paraguay as only 13 points separate the top four drivers; Evans, Toyota’s Kalle Rovanpera and Sebastien Ogier, and Tanak.

The event will be conducted over 19 stages that will total a staggering 333.18 kilometres before finishing on Sunday. All times shown below will be displayed in both local time and in the 24-hour format.

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
