Ahead of the Belgian GP, at the iconic and historic Belgian circuit, Spa-Francorchamps, the FIA has confirmed four track changes as the sport prepares for the next round of the championship.

The Belgian track has undergone a series of changes in recent years, such as new grandstands – more notably at Radillion, resurfacing and the addition of gravel traps at several corners.

In 2025, this has continued with further minor changes being made at the historic circuit, as confirmed by the FIA Race Director Event Notes.

Some of the changes include resurfacing work, which continues from the major resurfacing that was undertaken in 2024.

This year, the FIA has confirmed that the racing line, from the 50m brake marker board at turn one into the exit of turn one, has been resurfaced. In addition to the right-hand side of turn 15, Stavelot, to correct a bump.

Asphalt has been grinded halfway down from the endurance pit lane to turn two.

The apex kerb has also been replaced at turn three, through the iconic Eau Rouge and Radillion section.

The Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix will get underway on Friday with the only practice session of the weekend, due to a return to the Sprint Race format.

The opening hour of practice will get underway at 12:30pm local time on Friday, ahead of sprint qualifying. The race will get underway at 3pm on Sunday.

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
