Belgium will ignite the second half of the 2025 F1 world championship with a double header consisting of the Belgian and Hungarian Grand Prix, before the sport heads to the annual summer break.

Last time out, at the British Grand Prix, McLaren’s Lando Norris took back-to-back wins in the Austrian-Great Britain double header and cut down the deficit to his championship-leading teammate, Oscar Piastri.

The two McLarens now stand at the top of the drivers standings, eight points apart with Piastri (234 points) leading Norris (226), whilst Red Bull’s Max Verstappen rounds out the top three, 69 points behind the championship lead.

Belgium’s race also marks the third sprint race of the season, following China and Miami earlier on, and with it the sprint race format.

It means the teams will have only one hour to gather data and hone in their set-ups before qualifying begins for the sprint race. The teams will be allowed to make further adjustments after the sprint before being locked in for qualifying, for the Belgian GP.

Hi, I'm Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion. I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I've loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
