Weather report: the latest ahead of the F1 Belgian Grand Prix
22nd July 2025Formula 1 will ignite the second half of their season with the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix, at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps. So, what is the weather expected to be like in Belgium?

Belgium stands as the 13th round on the 2025 calendar with a return to the Sprint Race format this weekend, meaning qualifying for the sprint will take place on Friday, ahead of traditional qualifying on Saturday.
Oscar Piastri continues to lead the F1 championship in the drivers standings but after two wins in the previous two events, Lando Norris has cut down the Australian’s championship lead to eight points, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen trailing 61 points behind the two McLarens.
But, according to the BBC, it is expected to be a wet and dry weekend with thunderstorms expected in the evening at the start of the event. However, it is expected to be a dry race on Sunday.
What is the weather forecast for the Belgian GP?
Friday
Light rain showers are the orders of the day with rain expected on Friday with the chance of rain increasing up to 48% at 11am before dropping away slightly as the day progresses. However, there is a risk of a thunderstorm around 5pm to 6pm.
Free Practice 1 will have temperatures starting at 15° which will only marginally increase up to 18° for sprint qualifying.
Saturday
Unlike Friday, the second day of the weekend will be expected to have a sunny start to the day with sunny intervals. There remains a low risk of rain with it standing at 6% during the sprint but is expected to increase up to 18% for qualifying for the Grand Prix.
Temperatures will be slightly warmer than the previous day with temperatures rising up to 17° for the sprint before increasing to 20° for qualifying
Sunday
After the expected dry sessions of Saturday, rain expected to return for Sunday with light showers forecasted in the morning and at race start with it the chance of rain sitting at 55% before decreasing to 31%.
Temperatures will hold similarly to Saturday with it sitting around 17° to 18° during the Grand Prix.
