Austrian GP: Who will start where?
29th June 2025Lando Norris heads the grid at the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, but how does the grid stand ahead of the upcoming race?

It’s a McLaren 1-3 and a Ferrari 2-4 ahead of the first race of this European double header, ahead of the British Grand Prix, but first they have to tackle the Red Bull Ring for the Austrian race.
Alpine’s Pierre Gasly hindered two drivers who could’ve challenged Norris for pole position as the Frenchman suffered a spin in the final run of Q3. As a result, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and McLaren’s Oscar Piastri had their runs hindered.
At the end of the session, it meant Verstappen would start the race in seventh behind Racing Bulls Liam Lawson, in sixth, and ahead of Kick Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto, in eighth.
Mercedes’ George Russell escaped punishment for a pit lane infringement and was given a warning by the stewards for entering the pit lane without a suitable gap. In turn, it means the Briton will not lose his qualifying position.
So far, there have been no changes or penalties, so the grid remains unchanged from qualifying.
