Rally Greece: Ott Tanak takes lead as Acropolis bites
28th June 2025Hyundai’s Ott Tanak has taken the rally lead of the World Rally Championship’s Acropolis Rally Greece as other drivers suffered punctures in the early stages.

Tanak is the rally leader, surviving the challenging conditions which are giving those around him punctures. Despite tackling the tough Greek gravel surfaces and the rising heat, the Estonian holds a marginal lead over his teammate Adrien Fourmaux.
Toyota’s Sebastien Ogier performed well as the second car out on the road as the Frenchman took the rally lead, but dropped down to third as the day progressed.
Hyundai teammate Thierry Neuville, who had temporarily led the rally, like those around him on the previous run of the stage, suffered a puncture on the second pass of the Aghii Theodori as the tyre ripped apart the fender.
He later had to stop on stage five, Thiva, to change his tyre due to another puncture.
How the second day ended…
Tanak was the leading driver with an elapsed time of one hour, 25 minutes and 7.4 seconds ahead of his teammate Fourmaux, who was second. Ogier completed the top three, in third, nearly 17 seconds off the pace.
Toyota’s Elfyn Evans found himself in fourth place ahead of teammates Takamoto Katsuta and Kalle Rovanpera, in sixth and seventh, respectively. Gregoire Munster, of M-Sport Ford, sandwiched himself in amongst the Toyota group, in fifth.
Neuville was the last of the WRC Rally1 runners inside the top 10, down in eighth ahead of the WRC2 competitors, Oliver Solberg and Kajetan Kajetanowicz, who completed the top 10, in order of ninth and 10th.
The remaining Rally1 runners of Toyota’s Sami Pajari and the M-Sport crews, Martins Sesks, Jourdan Serderidis and Joshua McErlean found themselves outside the top 10.
McErlean was the leading Rally1 driver outside the top 10, in 12th, ahead of Serderidis, Sesks and Pajari, who were 26th, 41st and 49th overall.
