The highly-anticipated Formula 1 movie has now been released internationally. The film has received good praise so far, in its early days, receiving 86% by movie critics Rotten Tomatoes.
The Award-winning actor, Pitt, has been given an opportunity by McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown to get behind the wheel of the team’s MCL60 in a private test at COTA, in Austin, Texas.
The MCL60 is the team’s 2023 F1 challenger which the team can use privately for tests and development as part of the regulations Testing of Previous Cars.
McLaren confirmed Pitt had visited the McLaren Technology Centre, in Woking, which was also used as the headquarters for the movie’s fictional team, last month.
Shots for the film were taken at the MTC as well as actual Grand Prix events, featuring the fictional APX GP team and cars – like in 2023 at the British Grand Prix, with the film stars driving the cars for the film.
During his visit to McLaren, he underwent engineering meetings, a seat fit and an ‘intensive’ simulator session ahead of the F1 track debut in the US.
The movie was directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Kosinski, Lewis Hamilton, Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Chad Oman.
Alongside Pitt, the film also stars Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia and Javier Bardem.
The movie was released on June 25, internationally, but will be released on Friday, June 27, in the United States.

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
